Norman Shutters: Plantation Shutters: Norman Normandy Real Basswood Painted Shutter
Rustic Elegance
Normandy offers discerning homeowners an incomparable custom hardwood shutter with distinct wood grain. Enhanced design options make your shutter decorating decisions rewarding.
Like any home investment, only shutters of exceptional quality will provide long-term value and increase appreciation. Norman ensures the beauty and durability of our shutters through the finest materials, handcrafting processes, advanced technology and quality control systems.
From Traditional to Contemporary
For the ultimate brilliance and resilience, we use multiple sequences of sanding and thin layers of coating with paint or stain. This labor-intensive process creates the ideal surface, resulting in a uniquely grained and lustrous finish. Normandy's wood grain characteristics are exceptional. With stain, the distinctive wood grain has enhanced depth and character. If you like your shutters smooth, our contemporary paints gleam on the satin-polished surface. Whatever your personal style - Warm an rustic or sleek and refined - you are sure to find the perfect match for your decor.
Distinctive Windows - Specialty Shapes
All Windows are not created equal. The Normandy specialty collection includes shapes beyond conventional squares and rectangles. If you have arches, hexagons, sliding or French doors, or other unusual window openings, we've got you covered! Our specialty shutters can be crafted to fit virtually any window opening. Now, every window in your home can be dressed with a Normandy Shutter.
Quality and Value Unmatched
We employ the same time-honored woodworking techniques used by artisans of exceptional home furnishings.
• Stability: Stained quarter-sawn louvers provide a tighter grain that results in durable louvers which resist cupping, twisting, and warping.
• Strength: Multiple layers of wood are bonded together to bolster the stability of the core of the stile-making for a robust and hearty support system for your shutter panel.
• Durability: Traditionally used in demanding furniture and building construction, mortise-and-tenon joints are designed to withstand the shear stress and racking forces that occur when operating a shutter. This makes the mortise-and-tenon an ideal joint for shutters.
• Resilience: Prescription Wood Conditioning, our patented wood drying technique, dries the wood to emulate the enviromental conditions of the location where the shutter will be installed. This practice reduces post-installation shrinking and swelling.

Color Accuracy Policy:
Although we do our best to make sure that the colors on our web site are accurate, actual colors will vary. In addition, subtle color differences and textures may not be fully appreciated on some systems due to differences in monitors and/or display cards because computer monitors are not all calibrated equally and color reproduction on the Internet is not precise. Since it is not possible to guarantee our online colors will look the same on all computers, we do not guarantee that what you see accurately portrays the color of the actual window treatment. Due to the fact that our products are all custom made, and can't be returned, you need to be sure that you can live with any color variations that are possible from our scanning of the actual samples. Also, most of our products use Color Coordinated Components. Color Coordinated means similar colors but not necessarily the same exact color. An exact match in color is not always possible for the components of the blind/shade. The color that best coordinates with the product's slat/fabric color will be chosen for use on the components. All components will not necessarily be of the same exact coordinated color. Some examples of color-coordinated component would be ladder strings, lift cords, tilter mechanisms, bottom rails, tassels, etc. If an exact color match is needed, please call and make an appointment for an in-home estimate and a friendly sales representative will bring the actual samples to your home for examination.
